Arrow Tours
Arrow Tours has been in business for 50 years. City breaks are our speciality and we aim to provide you with direct flights, city centre hotels and the best offers available.
We have cheap flights with all of the major airlines operating out of Ireland and we have secured cheap hotels in many top destinations. This allows you to book special offers online throughout the year with us.
We know that your weekend trips and short breaks are precious, so we've picked the best hotels for you - they're clean, good value and central.
Arrow Tours has been consistently awarded 'Best Short Breaks / City Breaks Tour Operator' by the Irish Travel Trade. We have also been awarded similar accolades by the public and local trade associations. Thinking of city breaks, think Arrow Tours.
Arrow Tours (2000) Limited is registered in Drogheda at 40 West Street, Drogheda. We are members of the ITAA and licensed by IATA and bonded by the Ulster Bank.
Hand Picked
We take the time to visit our top destinations and the selected hotels that we feature in each.
This gives us the confidence to sell hotels that we know will fit the bill when making a recommendation to you.
We look at the bedrooms, the public areas, the hotel restaurant and bar, meet the manager and get a feel for the property.
We also take the time to see what is in the hotel's immediate vicinity.
Trading Partners
We work with the major low cost carriers out of Ireland, namely Aer Lingus and other low cost airlines.
We also have long established working relationships with many of the world's biggest and best airlines, like Air France, SAS, BMI and Aer Arann.
These 'full service' airlines provide you, in most cases, with the comfort of on-board meals and include baggage allowance in their quoted air fares - there are no 'hidden extras'.
We have also forged very strong bonds with the major hotels that we feature. We work with the Jurys Doyle Group, the Jurys Inns, the Hilton Group, Radisson SAS Hotels, Thistle Hotels, Millennuim and Copthorne Group, the Accor Group, the Mercure Chain, Choice Hotels, Best Western Hotels, the Quality Hotel Group, the Comfort Hotel Group, Marriot Hotels and Meridien Hotels. In some cases we have been working with these properties for almost 40 years.
Practical Information
Exploring a city involves a lot of walking - you'll stop to enjoy the detail in the architecture, look at the shops and generally enjoy your new surroundings. It might sound glaringly obvious, but, wear a good pair of walking shoes! The constant stop-and-go will wear you down if you're not comfortable in your shoes!
Weather is difficult to predict; what starts off as a beautiful morning could easily turn into a rainy afternoon, so pack a small umbrella for these unexpected showers.
Avoid taking taxis during rush hour - you'll find yourself stuck in traffic, going nowhere but the meter keeps clocking up.
Tipping in restaurants is normally 15% of the bill - in most cases a service fee is NOT included in the bill, however, we recommend that you check it to make sure you're not tipping on the double.
Cafe waiters are saddled with the reputation of being rude; this is not the case - they're just in a hurry, so don't take offence if they are impatient with you!
Airport Congestion
With so many more people travelling in this day and age, it is most important that you allow yourself ample time to check-in for your flights.
We recommend that you check-in at least 2 hours before your departure time.
Between check-in, security, shopping, dining and getting to your departure gate, there is plenty to do in the airport before you actually board your flight.
Give yourself enough time to make the journey to the airport, park your car, get to the terminal and be at the check-in desk 2 hours before your scheduled departure time.
